Swat (Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Regional Police Officer Malakand Division Syed Fida Hassan Shah has said that the overall law and order situation in Malakand Division is satisfactory, the police are always vigilant to protect the lives and property of citizens and tourists and all available resources are being utilized. Operations against drug peddlers and other criminal elements are also underway. He expressed these views while talking to Swat Press Club Chairman Fazal Rahim Khan and Joint Secretary Abdul Salam. During the meeting, various issues including the law and order situation in Swat and Malakand Division, promotion of tourism, public issues and steps taken by the police were discussed. RPO Syed Fida Hassan Shah said that an effective strategy has been adopted to maintain law and order in Malakand Division. Providing a safe environment to citizens and tourists is among the top priorities of the police, while security arrangements are being made more effective in important highways, tourist spots and sensitive areas. He urged tourists from all over the country to visit the tourist spots of Swat and Malakand division without fear and anxiety and enjoy the beautiful valleys, waterfalls, rivers, mountains and other natural sights of the region. He said that establishing a peaceful environment is very important for the promotion of tourism and the police will provide all possible protection to tourists. The RPO also appealed to the local citizens to fully cooperate with the police to establish lasting peace and immediately inform the police in case of any suspicious activity or presence of criminal elements. He said that with mutual cooperation between the police and the public, crimes can be effectively curbed and peace can be further strengthened. Syed Fida Hassan Shah said that operations are underway against drug peddlers and other criminal elements in Malakand division and the police campaign is being made more effective to rid the society of the scourge of drugs. Strict action will be taken against those involved in drug trafficking as per the law. He said that protecting the young generation from drugs is not only the responsibility of the police but also the joint responsibility of the entire society. For this purpose, parents, teachers, scholars, media and civil society will also have to play their full role.
