Pakistan Science Foundation and Wuhan Textile University Sign MoU to Strengthen Scientific and Academic Cooperation.
Islamabad:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), and Wuhan Textile University (WTU), China, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Pakistan Science Foundation Headquarters in Islamabad to enhance bilateral cooperation in science, technology, research, innovation, and higher education.
A four-member delegation from Wuhan Textile University, led by Prof. Dr. Zhaowei Zhang, Dean, School of Biomedical Engineering and Health, visited Pakistan Science Foundation for the signing ceremony.The ceremony commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akmal, Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation, who highlighted the significance of strengthening scientific partnerships between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that the collaboration would create new opportunities for joint research, faculty and student exchanges, academic cooperation, and capacity building.
Prof. Dr. Zhaowei Zhang delivered a presentation introducing Wuhan Textile University's academic and research strengths, ongoing international collaborations, and areas of mutual interest. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, Member Science, PSF, outlining PSF's mandate, research support programs, and initiatives to promote international scientific collaboration.Following an interactive discussion between both sides, the Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed, marking a significant milestone in expanding institutional cooperation between the two organizations. The MoU provides a framework for collaboration in joint research projects, academic exchanges, scholarships, scientific events, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Raja Shahryar, Deputy Scientific Adviser (International), Ministry of Science and Technology / Director (International Linkages), Pakistan Science Foundation.
Following the signing ceremony, the Wuhan Textile University delegation called on Mr. Shahid Iqbal Baloch, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for expanding scientific and technological cooperation, strengthening institutional partnerships, promoting joint research, and facilitating academic exchanges between Pakistan and China. The Secretary appreciated the growing collaboration between PSF and Wuhan Textile University and reaffirmed the Ministry's full support for strengthening bilateral cooperation. He assured the delegation of the Government of Pakistan's commitment to facilitating future collaborative initiatives in science, technology, innovation, and higher education. The delegation also visited Pakistan Museum of Natural History, at Shakar Parian-Islamabad.The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Pakistan Science Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Wuhan Textile University to promoting scientific excellence and fostering long-term academic and research partnerships between Pakistan and China.
