HEC and Wuhan Textile University Discuss Enhanced Academic and Research Collaboration
ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,HEC hosted a delegation from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Wuhan Textile University (WTU), China, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in higher education, research, and innovation. The meeting was chaired by HEC Executive Director Dr. Zia Ul Haq and attended by representatives of HEC, the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other stakeholders.Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Zia Ul Haq reaffirmed HEC's commitment to strengthening Pakistan-China academic partnerships through research, innovation, institutional capacity building, and knowledge exchange. The WTU delegation highlighted the University's expertise in textile and fibre technology, sensor technology, and genetic engineering, while noting its existing collaborations with NUTECH and the Institute of Space Technology (IST) and expressing interest in partnering with more Pakistani universities.Both sides discussed joint research, faculty and student exchanges, postgraduate supervision, sandwich programmes, and undergraduate collaboration. They also agreed to promote Chinese language programmes, potentially in collaboration with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), and explore technical training for university staff. WTU also expressed its willingness to support HEC initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative through academic conferences, curriculum development, and collaboration in textile and fibre technology.
