Special Assistant on Prisons Iftikharullah Jan visited the Inspector General of Prisons.

On this occasion, Inspector General of Prisons Rehan Gul Khattak warmly welcomed him.

Peshawar (Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Prisons, Iftikharullah Jan visited the Inspector General of Prisons.  On this occasion, Inspector General of Prisons, Rehan Gul Khattak, warmly welcomed him. DIG (Finance and Planning) Mr. Hashmatullah, DIG Hazara Region Umair Khan, DIG Peshawar Region Baitullah Khan, DIG Mardan Region Sahibzada Qaiser Khan and Superintendent Central Jail Mardan Samiullah Khan Shinwari were also present during the visit. On this occasion, the Inspector General of Prisons gave a comprehensive presentation regarding the overall performance of the Prisons Department, ongoing reform initiatives, development projects, welfare activities, notable achievements and future goals. He also apprised the Special Assistant about the pending matters with various departments, administrative challenges and issues faced by the department. Later, the Special Assistant made a detailed tour of the Inspectorate including the server room and especially reviewed the Prison Management Information System (PMIS).  He appreciated the functionality, effectiveness of the system and the use of modern technology in correctional institutions. Special Assistant on Prisons, Iftikharullah Jan, termed the overall performance of the Prisons Department, reform initiatives and efforts made for administrative improvement as commendable. He expressed his resolve that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would provide all possible support to the Prisons Department to solve the problems faced by it, complete development projects and further improve the correctional system. He said that the government would continue to take effective steps to develop correctional institutions on modern lines and make them compatible with the requirements of the present era.
