Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Praises Partnership Between Russia and the Islamic World on the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group

Kazan:(International Desk)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Mr. Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay, participated in the main meeting of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, which was held today, May 15, 2026, in Kazan. His Excellency Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of #Tatarstan, chaired the meeting and, in his opening remarks, praised the level of strategic partnership in Russian relations with the Islamic world.The Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Mr. Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay, delivered a speech on behalf of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in which he affirmed that relations between the Russian Federation, the OIC, and its Member States are witnessing continuous institutional development, as evidenced by the diversity of areas of cooperation and the regularity of consultation mechanisms, particularly at the political level between the OIC General Secretariat and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasized the importance of maintaining this mechanism due to the added value it brings to joint efforts.His Excellency also expressed the OIC’s pride in the 20th anniversary of the founding of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, praising its pivotal role in shaping constructive dialogue between the two sides.In a related context, the Assistant Secretary-General conveyed the Secretary-General’s congratulations to the Republic of Tatarstan on its selection as the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2026, expressing his hope that this year would witness a wide range of political, cultural, and economic events that contribute to deepening ties and strengthening mutual understanding.
His Excellency concluded his remarks by commending the holding of the two working sessions on the initiatives The Greater Eurasian Partnership: Development Strategy” and “The Media Forum: Russia and the Islamic World,” which took place on May 14, 2026, emphasizing that these two initiatives represent a vital platform for exchanging views and bridging perspectives, thereby contributing to advancing regional integration and developing a shared media narrative based on mutual respect and common interests.
