Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Prisons Iftikharullah Jan visited the Central Jail Mardan.

On his arrival at the jail, he was welcomed by the Superintendent of Central Jail Mardan Samiullah Khan Shinwari and the jail staff.

Mardan:(Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Prisons Iftikharullah Jan paid a detailed visit to the Central Jail Mardan and inspected various sectors. On his arrival at the jail, he was welcomed by the Superintendent of Central Jail Mardan, Samiullah Khan Shinwari and the jail staff. During the visit, sweets and Eid gifts were distributed among the prisoners, which created an atmosphere of happiness, acceptance and hope in the jail.  Moreover, the Special Assistant listened to the problems of the prisoners and assured them of practical steps for their welfare. On this occasion, he announced the installation of a water filtration plant and a separate electricity feeder to ensure the supply of clean drinking water in the jail, so that the prisoners could get better facilities. On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a two-month remission of the prisoners’ sentences was announced. This visit is a clear expression of the determination of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make jails, not just prisons, but centers of reform, rehabilitation and human service, where prisoners can be provided with dignity, convenience and hope for a better future.
