Awakening political awareness among Pakhtun youth is the urgent need of the hour. Sana Gulzar Advocate’s conversation with the media

Peshawar (Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Sana Gulzar is a lawyer by profession and belongs to Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She started her practical politics formally from the platform of the Awami National Party. She has been quite active in the party’s youth wing and has been given responsibilities as the ANP’s Provincial Secretary Youth Affairs and a member of the Provincial Information Committee. She has been a pioneer in the party’s reorganization and attracting youth, especially female students and young women, to politics in Peshawar and other parts of the province. Sana Gulzar Advocate’s ideology is based on the philosophy of Fakhr-e-Afghan Bacha Khan and the leader of the movement, Khan Abdul Wali Khan. She follows Bacha Khan’s philosophy of establishing peace in the Pakhtun land and non-violence. She advocates for the protection of provincial rights under the Eighteenth Amendment and for Pakhtuns to have their own authority over their resources. She is a supporter of a democratic system in the country where the constitution and law prevail and all citizens have equal rights. She has been raising her voice in public forums against the current economic system and inflation and believes that the real purpose of politics should be public service. Advocate Sana Gulzar’s services are mainly at the organizational and public level. As Secretary Youth Affairs, she has organized several seminars and workshops to create political awareness among Pakhtun youth, keep them away from extremism and bring them towards peaceful politics. Living within the traditions of Pakhtun society, she has played an important role in including women in the legal and political mainstream so that women can also be part of the decision-making process. As an advocate, she also participates in activities to provide legal protection to oppressed party workers and disadvantaged groups. She is a supporter of educational and skill projects for the youth and promotes programs at the party level that lead the youth towards branded employment. She has been overseeing small projects at the local level for clean water, health awareness and assistance to poor families through the party's welfare wings in Peshawar and surrounding areas.
