Islamabad (Reporter Javed Iqbal) According to Global Times Media Europe, Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his message on the occasion of International Labor Day, said that May 1st is a symbol of the struggle, sacrifices and commitment of workers to social justice. He described workers as the main pillar of the country's development and economic strength. He stressed that it is the responsibility of the state to provide decent employment, fair wages, social security and a safe working environment to workers, while the parliament is playing a full role in promoting labor-friendly legislation and welfare measures. Paying tribute to Pakistani workers abroad, the Acting President said that they are stabilizing the economy through foreign exchange, and the government is determined to protect their rights.
