The inauguration ceremony of the souvenir shop was held at the Peshawar Museum in collaboration with the KP Archaeology Department and the Prisons Department.

This souvenir shop is not only a cultural initiative but its main objective is to promote the concept of reform.

Peshawar:(Special Correspondent)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Souvenir Shop at Peshawar Museum was successfully inaugurated through a collaborative initiative of the Archaeology and Museums Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Prisons Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Saadat Hassan, Secretary Culture, Tourism, Archaeology and Museums KP, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak, Inspector General of Prisons KP, and Dr. Abdul Samad, Director General of Archaeology and Museums KP, Faisal Amin Gandapur MNA were also present on the occasion.This Souvenir Shop represents not only a cultural initiative but also promotes the concept of correction and rehabilitation, aiming to engage inmates in constructive activities and help transform them into productive members of society. The shop features handicrafts, paintings, and other items prepared by prisoners. Notably, 30% of the profit generated from the sale of these products will be given to the inmates as compensation, encouraging their rehabilitation and skill development.
This project reflects a strong collaboration between two key government departments—Archaeology and Museums, and Prisons—combining efforts to promote cultural heritage alongside social reform.
The establishment of the Souvenir Shop at Peshawar Museum, one of the most significant centers of the Gandhara civilization, adds historical importance to this initiative. It not only highlights the rich cultural heritage of the region but also provides visitors with a unique and educational historical experience.
Guests at the event termed this initiative a significant milestone in promoting culture, inter-departmental collaboration, and the rehabilitation of prisoners.
The ceremony concluded successfully, with participants appreciating this joint effort.
