Day Twenty-Seven of Pre-Service Training for Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates / Illaqa Qazis (2026)

Peshawar:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The twenty-seventh day of the Pre-Service Training Programme at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy focused on criminal evidence, sentencing laws, and criminal judgment writing.

The day commenced with recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by “Walk with the Nature” and a feedback session conducted by the faculty.

The first academic session on Appreciation of Evidence – Criminal was delivered by Mr. Muhammad Zeb Khan, Registrar, Peshawar High Court, who elaborated on principles governing evaluation of evidence in criminal trials, standards of proof, assessment of credibility, and judicial caution in appreciating prosecution and defence evidence.This was followed by a session on Sentencing, Probation & Parole Laws by Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Director Inspection, Peshawar High Court, who discussed sentencing principles, proportionality, mitigating and aggravating circumstances, and the legal framework relating to probation and parole.

In the subsequent sessions, Judgment Writing – Criminal (Theory and Practical) was conducted by Mr. Rashid Ullah Kundi, Additional Registrar, Bannu Bench, PHC, along with Mr. Dost Muhammad, Director Instructions, KPJA. The sessions focused on structure, reasoning, analysis of evidence, and drafting of well-reasoned criminal judgments, followed by practical exercises.The Day Twenty-Seven activities significantly enhanced the trainees’ understanding of criminal adjudication and strengthened their capacity to write clear, reasoned, and legally sound criminal judgments.
