Concluding Ceremony of SECP Professional Development Course (Batch-III)
ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Concluding Ceremony of the Professional Development Course for Officers of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) – Batch-III was held today at the Federal Judicial Academy. The five-day intensive course brought together SECP officers from all over Pakistan for an intensive and intellectually enriching learning experience focused on regulatory governance, judicial perspectives, corporate accountability, competition law, and emerging challenges in financial regulation. The course was meticulously designed to strengthen institutional capacity and foster a deeper understanding of regulatory and judicial institutions.A key feature of the course was an insightful lecture on “Corporate Legal Framework – A Jurisprudential Discourse” delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice (R) Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar, former Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court and current Chairman of the Competition Appellate Tribunal. The lecture emphasized on the legal principles, regulatory oversight and corporate accountability, encouraging participants to think critically and develop a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance.Hon'ble Mr. Justice (R) Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar also graced the concluding ceremony as Chief Guest. In his address, His Lordship highlighted the critical role of regulators in ensuring market integrity, transparency, and investor confidence. He underscored the importance of principled decision-making, sound adjudication, and continuous professional development, while stressing the need for harmonized institutional collaboration to promote fair competition and sustainable economic growth.The Worthy Director General, Federal Judicial Academy, Mr. Hayat Ali Shah during his concluding address presented a formal vote of thanks to Hon’ble Mr. Justice (R) Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar for delivering the insightful lecture and for sharing his judicial and regulatory insights with the participants. He acknowledged His Lordship’s distinguished contributions to corporate jurisprudence and regulatory law. The Worthy Director General also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for its valued collaboration and active engagement in the programme, while reaffirming the Academy’s unwavering commitment to advancing capacity-building initiatives and strengthening institutional partnerships aimed at promoting excellence, professionalism, and ethical governance within public institutions.Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed Mirza, Commissioner, SECP, also addressed the ceremony and conveyed his gratitude to the Federal Judicial Academy for organizing the Professional Development Course.
